Wren's Stats: 20 lbs 4 oz /  29.5 inches

Grady's Clothing & Diaper Size: 9 month sleepers and 6-12 month onesies/one-piece outfits; Size 3 diapers.

Wren's Clothing & Diaper Size: 9 month sleepers (that are getting quite snug) and 6-12 month onesies/dresses; Size 3 diapers.

Special Outings: On Monday, April 22, 2013 we had a zoo play-date with our twin friends, Braxton & Brody, and their mama, Lacye. It was your first trip to the zoo and I didn't document it at all, but we had a great time. I'm not quite sure if you really noticed any of the animals but it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the company of our sweet friends.

Milestones: Wren, you are full on crawling now (it started about 2 1/2 weeks ago). You and your brother are constantly on the go and you seem to always want to be where he is. You are both super busy and into everything! You both pull up by yourselves and stand at every opportunity and are starting to cruise along the edge of furniture just a little bit. You love to climb all over me and daddy when we are sitting on the floor with you. I have basically turned into your personal jungle gym.

You both now say "Mama" and it completely melts my heart. Wren, most of the time you will say it when we ask you to. Grady, you usually only say it when you're upset, for instance when you want out of your crib, if I'm not feeding you fast enough, or if I'm not giving you any of my food. We've now reached the point that my food is no longer my own and becomes confiscated by your little mouths.

There's no denying that your personalities are strong and are out in full force. Your antics are hilarious and you keep us constantly entertained.

You are growing leary of strangers when we are at social gatherings and at church. You usually warm up to people you don't know that well but it can take some time before you feel comfortable enough to let your guard down.

Grady, you have a total of 8 teeth (4 bottom teeth and 4 top teeth). Wren, you still have a total of 4 teeth (2 bottom teeth and 2 top teeth).

My Thoughts: I am overjoyed by the fact that I get to be your mama. Your daddy and I often have the conversation of how we can't imagine our lives without you. It's hard to even really remember life before you came along. I have loved watching you two grow and develop throughout your first year of life. Every new stage you entered quickly became my favorite as I watched you discover more of your little world. I was pretty much a weepy mess on the days leading up to your birthday and it was all I could do to choke back the tears at your birthday party as a room full of people we love sang "Happy Birthday" to you, my precious miracles. Our family has come so far from this time last year. I am not sure I can handle the speed at which this past year flew by. So I'm asking time to please slow down so you all won't grow up too fast on me. ;)

Routine:
These days our routine looks roughly like this:
5:30am Feed (bottle)
6:30am-8:00am Nap/Quiet play
9:30am Feed (breakfast)
11:00am-12:00pm Nap
12:30pm Feed (lunch & bottle)
2:00pm-3:00pm Nap
5:00pm Feed (dinner)
7:00pm Feed (bottle)
7:30pm Bedtime

Favorites:

(1) Ruby's Crate: You love to stand at Ruby's crate, bang on it, and open and close the door repeatedly. I've even intentionally locked Ruby in it and you have managed to unlock it and let her out. (2) Ruby's Bones: We don't actually let you play with Ruby's bones but you always gravitate toward them and we have to constantly take them away from you. (3) Felt Scraps (from the bunting banner made for your 1st Birthday Party): On a whim I decided to give you the pile of felt scraps I had instead of throwing them away and they were a hit. You always have at least one scrap in your hands at all times and you crawl everywhere with them clutched in your fists. Consequently, I find scraps all over the house. (4) Sprig Cone Stacker Toy: Your favorite method of playing with this toy is for me to stack it up so you can knock it down and fling the pieces all over the room. (5) Camelbak Water Bottles: You started showing interest in my Camelbak water bottle and learned how to use it so I ordered small children's sized Cambelbaks for you. You love drinking from them. We use them in addition to sippy cups.

Dislikes:  Being put down at nap-time/bed-time and seeing daddy or I walk out of the room

Food:  You are down to 3 bottles a day now (morning-8 oz, lunch-4-6oz, bedtime-8 oz) and are still on Target's generic of Similac Sensitive Isomil Soy Formula (Up & Up Infant Soy). You are both eating the following foods cut/torn up into small pieces: bananas, avocados, sweet potatoes, apples, peas, strawberries, waffles, toast, and you are still eating many of the Ella's Kitchen organic baby food pouches. You also snack on puffs, plain cheerios, yogurt melts, goldfish crackers, and Baby Mum-Mum crackers. We also give you food off our plates. Recently I was eating a cheeseburger and holding you, Grady, and you kept insisting I give you a bite. You took a pretty big bite, loved it, and kept coming back for more. You both also love eating bites of Mama & Daddy's sandwiches & pizza.

Wren got sleepy and laid her head down on the floor. Grady took notice
and crawled over to her, patted her on the head, bent down, and sweetly
placed his forehead on hers. #caughtbeingsweet #meltmyheart

Perfect day for a pillow pallet fort. Ruby obviously
can't be bothered by such foolery.
These two are pretty proud of themselves. Heard a loud noise through
the wall and walked into their room to find they had taken their humidifier
apart and the light up globe had fallen between the table and the wall.
Time to rearrange! #stinkers
